About Ross

Ross Andrews, a ceramic artist based in South Wales, graduated from Cardiff's School of Art and Design with a master's in ceramics and art research. His work varies from mould-making and slip-casting to sculptural hand-building and digital processes, such as 3D printing, to produce large vessels or ornamental pieces of sculpture.

These varied processes allow Ross to create unique digital forms exploring sound or existing objects in new and innovative ways. Although more broadly, Ross's work is centred around his attraction to luxury or things of ceremony and ritual. This attraction could be explained by, or called, a queer or 'camp' aesthetic. Not in the colour pallet or any iconography, but his work is often either over-embellished or highly textured with the feeling of 'more is more'.
